LENIN QUOTES

LENIN (1870-1924)

Trong The Proletarian Revolution and the Renegade Kautsky, không dưới ba lần, V.I.Lênin khẳng định nền dân chủ vô sản hơn gấp triệu lần nền dân chủ tư sản: “Chế độ dân chủ vô sản so với bất cứ chế độ dân chủ tư sản nào, cũng dân chủ hơn gấp triệu lần, chính quyền xô viết, so với các cộng hòa tư sản dân chủ nhất, cũng dân chủ hơn gấp triệu lần."(Proletarian democracy is a million times more democratic than any bourgeois democracy... Soviet power is a million times more democratic than the most democratic bourgeois republic - Bourgeois And Proletarian Democracy)
(We say: our aim is to achieve a socialist system of society, which, by eliminating the division of mankind into classes, by eliminating all exploitation of man by man and nation by nation, will inevitably eliminate the very possibility of war. Lenin, War and Revolution (1917)
- Socialists cannot achieve their great aim without fighting against all oppression of nations.
VLADIMIR LENIN, Socialism and War
We shall not achieve socialism without a struggle. But we are ready to fight, we have started it and we shall finish it with the aid of the apparatus called the Soviets.
Report on the Activities of the Council of People’s Commissars (24 January 1918); Collected Works, Vol. 26, pp. 459-61.
Socialists cannot achieve their great aim without fighting against all oppression of nations.

VLADIMIR LENIN, Socialism and War
It is not national interests we are upholding — we claim that the interests of socialism, the interests of world socialism, rank higher than national interests, higher than the interests of the state. We are defenders of the socialist fatherland.
Address to the Party Central Committee (14 May 1918); Collected Works, Vol. 27, pp. 365-381.
When we say "the state," the state is We, it is we, it is the proletariat, it is the advanced guard of the working class.
VLADIMIR LENIN, speech, May 27, 1922

It is necessary — secretly and urgently to prepare the terror. And on Tuesday we will decide whether it will be through SNK or otherwise.
Memorandum to Nikolay Nikolayevich Krestinsky (3 or 4 September 1918) while recovering from an assassination attempt by Socialist-Revolutionary Fanni Kaplan on 30 August 1918; published in The Mitrokhin Archive: The KGB in Europe and the West (1999) Christopher Andrew and Vasili Mitrokhin, p. 34.
One clever writer on statecraft correctly said that if it is necessary for the realization of a well-known political goal to perform a series of brutal actions then it is necessary to do them in the most energetic manner and in the shortest time, because masses of people will not tolerate the protracted use of brutality.
Letter to Comrade Molotov for the Politburo (19 March 1922)

  • Our aim is to achieve a socialist system of society, which, by eliminating the division of mankind into classes, by eliminating all exploitation of man by man and nation by nation, will inevitably eliminate the very possibility of war.
    • Collected Works, Vol. 24, pp. 398–421.

    • Only by abolishing private property in land and building cheap and hygienic dwellings can the housing problem be solved.
      • Collected Works, Vol. 24, p. 455–480.
Ban đầu, các ông Cộng sản  tỏ ra lúng túng trước hai chữ dân chủ tự do. Dường như họ khinh bỉ hai chữ tự do, dân chủ.

(CHỦ NGHĨA CỘNG SẢN I , 5, [9]

Only struggle educates the exploited class. Only struggle discloses to it the magnitude of its own power, widens its horizon, enhances its abilities, clarifies its mind, forges its will.

VLADIMIR LENIN, lecture on the 1905 revolution, 1917

Human knowledge is not (or does not follow) a straight line, but a curve, which endlessly approximates a series of circles, a spiral. Any fragment, segment, section of this curve can be transformed (transformed one-sidedly) into an independent, complete, straight line, which then (if one does not see the wood for the trees) leads into the quagmire, into clerical obscurantism (where it is anchored by the class interests of the ruling classes).

    VLADIMIR LENIN, Summary of Dialectics

    - A newspaper is not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, it is also a collective organiser.

VLADIMIR LENIN, "The Plan For an All-Russia Political Newspaper", What Is To Be Done

A lie told often enough becomes the truth.

VLADIMIR LENIN, attributed, The Words of Pow

The Bolshevik slogans and ideas on the whole have been confirmed by history; but concretely things have worked out differently; they are more original, more peculiar, more varied than anyone could have expected.

    VLADIMIR LENIN, Letters on Tactics

The art of any propagandist and agitator consists in his ability to find the best means of influencing any given audience, by presenting a definite truth, in such a way as to make it most convincing, most easy to digest, most graphic, and most strongly impressive.

VLADIMIR LENIN, The Slogans and Organisation of Social-Democratic Work

One must not count in thousands, like the propagandist belonging to a small group that has not yet given leadership to the masses; in these circumstances one must count in millions and tens of millions.

VLADIMIR LENIN, Left-Wing Communism: An Infantile Disorder

Every cook must learn to rule the State.

VLADIMIR LENIN, attributed, "Woman's Place", New International, August 1935

    - Marx said that the revolutionary dictatorship of the proletariat lies between capitalism and communism. The more the proletariat presses the bourgeoisie, the more furiously they will resist. We know what vengeance was wreaked on the workers in France in 1848. And when people charge us with harshness we wonder how they can forget the rudiments of Marxism.Speech to the All-Russia Extraordinary Commission Staff (7 November 1918); Collected Works, Vol. 28, pp. 169-70
    - We must pursue the removal of church property by any means necessary in order to secure for ourselves a fund of several hundred million gold rubles.Letter to Comrade Molotov for the Politburo (19 March 1922

We want to achieve a new and better order of society: in this new and better society there must be neither rich nor poor; all will have to work. Not a handful of rich people, but all the working people must enjoy the fruits of their common labour. Machines and other improvements must serve to ease the work of all and not to enable a few to grow rich at the expense of millions and tens of millions of people. This new and better society is called socialist society. The teachings about this society are called socialism.
Disarmament is the ideal of socialism."The “Disarmament” Slogan" (October 1916); Collected Works, Vol. 23, p. 94-104.
We shall not bind ourselves by treaties. We shall not allow ourselves to be entangled by treaties. We reject all clauses on plunder and violence, but we shall welcome all clauses containing provisions for good-neighbourly relations and all economic agreements; we cannot reject these.
