Tuan Nguyen was born in Saigon, South Vietnam in 1963. Tuan tried to escape Vietnam in 1988, but failed, and witnessed the death of a close friend in the same escape attempt. As a result of his escape attempt, Tuan was put in a reeducation camp by the communist regime. After one year, he managed to escape the camp and fled to the United States.

Tuan received his fine art degree from the Art Institute of Southern California in Laguna Beach, CA.[[Category:[[Category:]]]]

Tuan Nguyen received th Gloria Medal from the National Sculpture Society (New York), a medal designed by Paul Jennewein, awarded to an artist with a meritorious body of work.
